Lovely Lyndsay chose Viva Bride for her fabulous February wedding, read on to find out more…

Lyndsay on the morning of her wedding day, prepping for the big day

Lyndsay and Matthew met at work in 2017. “Our first date was in Walton Gardens with my dog, Scooby,” says Lyndsay. “It was absolutely gorgeous."

"I think Scooby fell in love with Matthew just as much as I did that day.”

A bittersweet proposal

The couple had been together for five years when Matthew proposed. “Unbeknown to me, Matthew had a night away planned with a romantic proposal in a lovely setting,” says Lyndsay. “However, we were unable to go, as we sadly lost my father-in-law a few days before. Even though his heart was breaking, he took me on a bike ride (something we love to do together) and he proposed in a beautiful nature reserve."

"It couldn’t have been any more perfect for us."

"I felt so many emotions but mostly just pure love and admiration for my future husband.”

Shopping for the dress

Lyndsay found her dream dress at wed2b’s Liverpool store. “The staff were all amazing and so helpful,” she says. “I didn’t feel rushed and was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted. I went in with a vision of a dress in mind. However, I came out with so much more knowledge after speaking with the staff and trying on other styles.”

Discovering Viva Bride…

Lyndsay chose our fabulous Milani mermaid, with wow-factor floral lace and a fabulous bouncy skirt.

“I had so many compliments on the dress and felt amazing in it,” she says.

“I also loved that I was able to make the dress my own by adding pretty straps and a slim glittering belt."

Lyndsay styled her unique look with a delicate Petal tiara and a simple Margot veil, which were the perfect complement to the glamorous dress. If you like the look, why not check out more of our stunning mermaid designs?

A magical February wedding

The couple had a February wedding and married at Colshaw Hall, a Grade 2 listed hall in Cheshire.

“We fell in love with Colshaw Hall the moment we saw it,” says Lyndsay.

“The staff are absolutely incredible at what they do and helped us every step of the way. There is something magical about Colshaw Hall and we were so happy to get married there.”

The big day

Lyndsay got ready at the venue with her maid of honour, bridesmaids, the mother-of-the-bride and her youngest son, who was page boy. “The weather was beautiful, especially for February,” says Lyndsay. “We had some sunshine and it was a mostly dry day but we did get a little shower which made for an amazing picture! My dad and my oldest son walked me down the aisle, which was a very special moment. We walked in to Teddy Swims’ ‘You’re Still The One’. The most special moment had to be marrying my best friend in front of all our loved ones, and especially our children who are our world.”

Later there were welcome drinks, professional photographs, a magician and a band. “Our first dance song was ‘I am Yours’ by Need to Breathe,” says Lyndsay. “It was sung by our band who made this so special. It has been our song for such a long time.”

Fresh blues and whites

The colour theme was blues and whites with dried flowers, candles and petals. “We had leek and potato soup, a Cheshire chicken dinner and brownies for dessert. Our wedding cake was incredible and matched our theme with dried flower wreaths. Our band were great too, and I can’t recommend them enough. The magician was literally magical!”

The best bits…

“The most memorable moments of the whole day were celebrating with our friends, family and children,” says Lyndsay.

“And becoming Mrs Morley-Hill.”

And for other Viva brides…

“Enjoy the whole experience!” says Lyndsay. “I have absolutely loved every step of the planning and the whole day, but it goes so quickly. I just wish we could do it all over again!"
