A fun May wedding day in Viva Bride
One of our sparkling ballgowns was the perfect dress for this princess bride
Kyla and Thomas first met in 2017 and their first date was to Cardiff’s magical Winter Wonderland.
“Later, Tom proposed in Ogmore-by-Sea, while we watched the sunrise with our dog Dave,” says Kyla.
Shopping for the dress
“I found wed2b online and my experience from start to finish was great,” says Kyla. “Plus, it was uncanny, but the lady at the Cardiff store initially spelt my name wrong. She put down Kayla instead of Kyla and then..."
"...I ended up buying the beautiful Kayla dress!”
Discovering Viva Bride...
Our Kayla design really is the ultimate classic ballgown. It has a delightful sweetheart neckline, a lace-up back and is covered in the prettiest ornate Chantilly lace. “The moment I turned around to see the mirror I knew she was 'The One',” says Kyla.
“I cried like a baby when I saw myself,..."
"...as I felt like a real life princess. I also bought an A-line underskirt and a beautiful hair slide to complete the look.”
A May wedding day in South Wales
A country manor house was the ideal match for this classic princess style, and the couple chose Llechwen Hall Hotel in South Wales, for their May wedding day. “We looked for venues online and I knew this one was perfect from just one photo,” says Kyla. “It also meant we could have all our loved ones in one place for the whole weekend.”
The big day
“I got ready at the venue with my three wonderful bridesmaids, my beautiful mum and also my mother-in-law,” says Kyla. “My two amazing dads walked me in turns down the aisle to Olivia Penalva’s ‘You Are The Reason’. "
"The weather was unbelievable, sunny all day and not a cloud in the sky.”
The ceremony was followed by drinks, canapés and a gorgeous three-course meal. “Our first dance was to a mix of two songs,” says Kyla. “We had Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’, which mixed into ‘Pencil Full of Lead’ by Paolo Nutini."
A rustic green theme
“I made all of the decorations myself with the help of my maid of honour,” says Kyla.
“We also handmade our bouquets out of crepe paper.”
The best bits…
“One of the most memorable moments was when we surprised the whole wedding with our change of song half way through our first dance!” laughs Kyla.
And for other Viva brides…
“Just have fun,” says Kyla.
“Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t worry about anyone else’s fun, just yours and your husband’s!"
