Bride and groom stood with foreheads touching and veil swept around them

Bianca and Scott met on Tinder six years ago. “Our first date was in a pub,” says Bianca. “I was nervous because Scott picked me up from home and I’d never met him before! It paid off though because six years later we are married with two beautiful little girls."

A Christmas proposal

Scott proposed when the couple had been together for 18 months. “We went to Harrogate for the weekend just before Christmas with our little girl,” says Bianca. “I was looking out of the hotel window at the beautiful view. When I turned round, he was on one knee with our daughter stood next to him and the ring box open in his hand. I cried!”

Bianca visited WED2B’s Rotherham store twice. “I originally loved the Summer dress and intended to go back for it but I couldn’t stop thinking about the Markle dress that I'd also tried,” she says.

“I loved the sleeves and how simple and classic it was. So, I tried it on again in a bigger size, which wasn’t quite as fitted as before. It was perfect and I knew it was the right dress! It was classic and simple yet still a showstopper. I also felt it was timeless and the button detail on the back was beautiful."

"The staff were very helpful and I loved that were so much choice. The atmosphere wasn’t pressured either, which was lovely.” (For similar styles try Rion, Niah and Sidney)

A beautiful Georgian hotel

The couple married at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield. “It was the second venue we visited and we just knew it was very us,” says Bianca. “I loved the vintage, homely yet luxurious feel it has. It’s a grand Georgian hotel but the rooms are still very intimate and cosy, especially in the winter. The grounds are vast and stunning too, so there were plenty of photo opportunities location-wise."

"We got married on the 2nd December 2021. It was the only day that week that was sunny, so we were very lucky. The rest of the week it poured with rain!”

The big day

“I got ready at Ringwood Hall with my daughters, my mother and my bridesmaid (my best friend),” says Bianca. “The weather was beautiful and sunny but very crisp. I was thankful my dress had sleeves!"

Bride and groom stood on steps of wedding venue

"My father walked me down the aisle as our harpist played ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri. We also had a reading by my oldest friend. She read ‘I Carry your Heart’ by E. E. Cummings. The most special part was the vows and having photos afterwards with our girls, when we were signing the register.”

Drinks, photos and dancing

“We had champagne and Bucks Fizz straight after the ceremony and then we had photographs,” says Bianca. “Our first dance song was ‘This is Real’ by Jax Jones and Elle Henderson because we both loved it. It also wasn’t too long, as we were both worried about our dancing skills!”

Greens, reds and golds

The theme was classic with green, deep red and gold colours. “We wanted the colours to give a nod to Christmas without being OTT,” says Bianca. “We had a beautiful foliage hoop at the end of the aisle. It was filled with green foliage that smelled beautiful. We also had dried flower wreaths on the tables and lanterns, so it was very cosy."

"The favours were Ferrero Rocher. We served roast turkey dinners for the ladies and roast beef for the gents, with soup as the starter and cheesecake for dessert."

Three tier ivory wedding cake decorated with white and red roses

"Our three-tier wedding cake had buttercream frosting and was decorated with deep red and white roses, with tiers of Victoria sponge, lemon and chocolate. Later we had a DJ to get the party started. Dancing with our daughters was one of the most memorable moments.”

My top tips…

“Plan plenty of time in the morning,” says Bianca. “The time absolutely flew by and we were rushing to get ready at the end even though we got married at 1.30pm! Enjoy every minute, it goes so fast. Don’t stress about the small things. On the day you won’t be worrying about tiny details, you’ll be too busy soaking up all the moments and enjoying yourself!”
