These newlyweds said ‘I do’ at an historic town hall wedding venue before dancing the night away with loved ones…

Kimberley and Ronny first met at a café in November 2006. “That’s when we started our relationship,” says Kimberley. “Ronny later proposed to me on New Year’s Eve 2020.”

Shopping for the dress

Kimberley found her dream dress at wed2b’s store in Ghent, Belgium. “I thought I'd have a look there and, wow, what dresses!” she says. “I tried on three and immediately knew that the last one was THE dress. It was such a great design and the saleswoman was really super, very experienced and knowledgeable.”

She chose Fynn, a stunning, figure-hugging sheath with Chantilly lace, floral sequin appliqués and a breathtaking back with rows of beautiful draped beads. “Wow, what a dress!” says Kimberley. “The length was perfect for me. I am 1.8m tall and nothing needed to be done to the dress. It fitted perfectly. I also bought a beautiful veil from wed2b, too.”

A charming town hall wedding

The couple married in historic Sluis Town Hall, a Gothic-style building with a dramatic belfry, in May 2022. “Our civil ceremony was in the town hall and this was followed by a reception at a local restaurant,” says Kimberley. “It was all really well arranged.”

The big day

“My makeup was done at my parents' house, then I went to the hairdresser for my hair,” says Kimberley. “Afterwards, my mother and my best friend helped me into my dress.”

“Before the ceremony, we had the first look with my father, followed by Ronny and kids,” says Kimberley. “Later, I walked down the altar with my father, who gave me away."

Dinner and dancing

“After the ceremony there was a reception, with dinner and a party,” says Kimberley. “Our first dance was to Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You’. This was also the song that was playing as I walked down the aisle. We didn't really have a colour theme. However, the decorations were stylish gold with white, and my husband and the boys wore lovely blue suits.”

The best bits…

“One of the most moving moments was the first look with Ronny and the kids, which really got me crying!” says Kimberley.
