These newlyweds followed their magical church ceremony with a stylish orange and navy wedding reception…

Lori-Dee and Daniel met over 10 years ago and have been together ever since. “Our first date was low key, a bottle of wine and a movie,” says Lori-Dee. “Daniel hasn't left my side since.”

“Daniel proposed in December 2019, while we were at home with the kids. It was so totally unexpected, intimate and just perfect.”

Shopping for the dress

“My best friend bought her dress from wed2b,” says Lori-Dee. “Then, while looking online, I spotted the most stunning wed2b dress and I just knew it was the one for me! I tried it on at the Northampton store and fell in love. No dress I tried on afterwards compared at all! Latasha at the store was also brilliant, helping with accessories and more. The whole experience was just amazing.”

Lori-Dee bought Camelia a gorgeous lace A-line by Anna Sorrano. “It was the most amazing dress I’d ever seen,” she says. “I wanted sleeves, as we were having a winter wedding, and I fell in love with the lace detail and the long train. It was just beautiful. I also added a stunning diamanté belt to complete the look.”

A unique ceremony venue

"We got married on 4th November at Normanton Church, a stunning medieval church on the banks of Rutland Water,” says Lori-Dee. “This was followed by a reception at the Falcon Hotel in Uppingham.”

The big day

“I got ready at the Falcon Hotel with my beautiful bridesmaids and mum,” says Lori-Dee. “The weather was dreary and raining but we fully embraced it and didn't let it get us down. The photos were amazing! My dad walked me down the aisle to ‘Stand By Me’ by Florence and The Machine.”

Afterwards everyone travelled to the reception venue for champagne and canapés, followed by a three-course-meal. “Our first dance was to ‘Let's Go Home Together’ by Ella Henderson and Tom Grennon. It’s very fitting for mine and Daniel’s personalities.”

A stylish orange and navy wedding theme

“The colour scheme was navy blue and burnt orange,” says Lori-Dee. “We also had lots of dried floral pampas arrangements with tables dressed in white linen. Our favours were ‘Save the Bees’ wildflower seeds, which everyone loved.”

“The wedding cake was a three-tier buttercream cake with orange and white flowers. We also had a magic mirror with props for our guests in the evening, along with our DJ from Revolution Discos.”

The best bits…

“The most memorable moment of the whole day was entering the church and seeing my husband on our wedding day,” says Lori-Dee. “I was fixated on him and didn’t even notice our guests around us!”

My top tips…

“Try to take it all in, the day goes so quickly!” says Lori-Dee. “Just take your time to enjoy it.”
