For Annie and Joe Taylor their wedding date – 10th March 2017 – was extra special as it was exactly 11 years after they officially became a couple. Our WED2B real weddings feature reveals more about their story:

The couple chose Halstead House Farm in Leicestershire for their reception. “It was the first wedding venue we saw and we fell in love with it straight away,” says Annie. “Walking down the cobbled path to the beautiful converted barn was mesmerising and there was also an attractive lake. It was perfect for us.”

The dream dress

After the venue the next big decision was the dress. “I visited the WED2B Hinckley store with a few family and friends and we all loved it,” says Annie. “It was so nice to browse freely, with plenty of space and comfy seating. Once I’d selected my dresses one of the lovely consultants was there straight away to help me try them on.”

Annie chose the Lamour dress by Viva Bride with a Kensington jacket. “I tried on five dresses but as soon as I tried on Lamour I knew it was The One,” she says. “I loved how it made me feel, just like a real bride. My family and friends all agreed it was perfect for me.”

Adorable accessories

Some simple teardrop earrings, a long cathedral-length veil and a chic bangle completed the look. “I took the jacket off for the evening and added an elegant diamond choker to create two different wedding day outfits,” says Annie.

Mellow yellow

On the big day the barn was decked out in a beautiful rustic style with lots of twinkly fairy lights, candles and plenty of decorations in Annie’s favourite colour, yellow. Her seven bridesmaids wore floor-length, lemon-coloured dresses and there was 40 meters of yellow bunting, all made by the bride!

Get me to to the church...

Annie is not known for her punctuality so, true to form, she didn’t quite make it to the ceremony on time! “Everyone knows I tend to be late,” she laughs. “So when the registrar informed Joe and the waiting guests that I was running 30 minutes behind there was a lot of laughter and nodding of heads. But when I finally did arrive the walk down the aisle is something I’ll never forget. Seeing everyone I loved waiting for me was absolutely amazing!”
