Our favourite wedding dresses with buttons
Beautiful buttons, we love them! Covered or crystal, they’re such an attractive delicate feature. And we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed. Wedding dresses with buttons are currently bang on trend.
The buttons are normally placed along the zip covering running down the back of the dress, with an elastic loop to close over the zip. So they're pretty and practical! There are also a variety of designs for wedding dresses with buttons, including satin covered, crystal, pearl or beaded buttons, so you can take your pick just like a kid in a sweetshop!
Remember, you’ll have your back to your guests for a large part of the ceremony and later on the dance floor. So make sure you give them something pretty to look at, whether it be sheer lace embroidery, a plunging back or dainty buttons. We’ve chosen three of our favourite wedding dresses with buttons to inspire you…
Soft as satin
There’s plenty to love about this vintage ball gown in oyster satin. The bodice is encrusted with fabulous iridescent crystals and beads while the luxurious A-line skirt is simple, stunning and flatters all body shapes. There are also clever hidden pockets for that all important handkerchief and lipgloss!
Turn around and you’ll discover a delicate row of crystal buttons, running from the top of the bodice and down the skirt. Easy to fasten, they create a glittering and elegant finish.
Wear it well
This is such an easy style to wear it needs very little embellishment. Add extra oomph to the skirt with our layered 153 underskirt. Our Langley veil comes with just a scattering of sparkle to suit this sophisticated look while the frosted crystals in our Zahara belt will accentuate your waist and complement the crystal buttons. Then all you need is a chic up-do topped off with our Bliss hair pin. If you love Beckett’s elegant satin chic take a look at our Sorella and Destin dresses too. Alternatively, pocket-lovers will adore A-line Charlotte in luxurious mikado fabric!
Make a statement
The satin-covered buttons here really add wow-factor to this stunning fishtail design. Made with delicate guipure lace, it’s perfect for super girly brides who want to show off those curves.
The hand-beaded neckline and the illusion back are just gorgeous, with the focal point being those dainty buttons that will trace your elegant curves. The lace is also covered in opulent glass beads that will sparkle as you walk.
Style it up
For extra va va voom our 190 underskirt is the perfect shape to add extra definition to a fishtail dress. The delicate teardrop beading on our scallop-edged Angel veil will also work perfectly here, combined with our waist-enhancing Estella belt. Finally, up the glamour for the evening with our Celine jacket in soft feathers. For more flattering fishtails make sure Bailey and Charlize are on your radar too.
And last but certainly not least our Jenna dress is a stunning example of how to work the button trend with style! This sensational embellished fishtail has a vintage feel and a romantic illusion neckline. The embroidered lace in antique ivory really gives it a sophisticated and luxurious feel.
A show-stopping finish
Then turn around and… wow! The back reveals a row of gorgeous, covered buttons surrounded by sparkling beading and elegant lace. The buttons trail seductively all the way down the back, highlighting curves, before the design flares out into the fab fishtail. The clever scooped illusion neckline and cap sleeves also give subtle coverage while showing off the back and shoulders.
Create your look
As before, our 190 underskirt is the ideal choice for a fishtail dress. Add a delicate Chrissy veil along with our sparkling Estella belt to draw attention to your waist. Finally, be inspired by nature and complement the floral embroidery with our dragonfly Tia Pin. Trust us, you’ll want more than one!
