Kate and Paul’s pretty wedding in Poland
A charming rustic wedding in Poland ticked all the boxes for this happy couple. Our WED2B Real Weddings feature reveals more…
Kate and Paul were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways. “We reconnected nine years ago, after meeting up on a night out,” says Kate. “The rest is history!”
A proposal in Krakow
Paul proposed on 9th September 2020 in Krakow.
“Paul took me to the ‘Love Bridge’ where we placed a love lock on it,” says Kate. “Then we also went on a horse and carriage ride to the castle and he filmed the whole thing."
Shopping for the dress
Kate visited WED2B’s Manchester store. “I was looking online at different designs and decided to go to WED2B in September 2022 with my bride tribe,” she says. “The staff were attentive and friendly.”
“I chose Albiona,” says Kate. “I loved it as soon as I saw it online. It was the perfect style for me and I was so glad the Manchester store had it to try on. As soon as I put it on I knew it was ‘The One’. I also bought a ballgown underskirt and a hair comb” For similar wedding dress styles have a closer look at Coreena, Jonie and Merryn.
A wedding in Poland
“After getting engaged there, we decided we wanted to have a wedding in Poland too. Krakow is very special to us, so we chose Villa Love, a rustic wedding venue near the city.”
The big day
The couple married on 26th April 2023. “We got ready at the venue with my mum, mother-in-law and bridesmaids,” says Kate.
“The weather was cloudy but the sun eventually came out. My dad walked me down the aisle to ‘Love Me Like You Do’ by Ellie Goulding.”
“After the ceremony, there was a drinks reception followed by a five-course wedding breakfast,” says Kate. “The Polish love their food, so there was also a hot buffet at night. Our first dance was to John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’, as this song reminds Paul of me.”
A stylish grey and pink theme
“The colour scheme was grey and pink,” says Kate. “We wanted a rustic theme and we had rustic keys as wedding favours, so it all tied in with the love lock story of our proposal.”
“Our wedding cake was a simple two-tier style with flowers on it. Our friend is a DJ, so he came to do the music as well as be best man.”
The best bits…
“From start to finish, our wedding was just simply out of this world,” says Kate. “Everything about it was memorable.”
My top tips…
“Just make sure you take it all in, as the day just goes too fast!”
