A surprise proposal
It's was on a special birthday holiday in New York when Matt surprised Jenna and got down on one knee. The park on the waterfront near the Brooklyn bridge was the perfect romantic spot, "I was very surprised, especially after 10 years." said Jenna.
The dress came first...
Jenna visited our bridal shop in Bristol and it was the first shop she visited, initially just looking for ideas. With a mermaid style dress in mind, the bridal experts in store selected a 'wild card' dress for her to try on. "When I put it on I felt like a true princess" explains Jenna. This perfect dress was a completely different style - ball gown 'Belle'. Jenna said "I wanted something very simple, with a little detail. So the detailed bodice and simple skirt of 'Belle' was the perfect combination."
"I walked out with the dress. Didn't even have a venue booked!" said Jenna.
Finished with the cathedral length Loulou veil which perfectly covers the entire length of the dress. Jenna added that "The store was great with so much stock. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I am thankful to them for selecting the wildcard dress."
A magical, grand setting
The couple married at The Assembly Rooms in Bath in September 2017. With personalised readings from the maid of honour. One of Jenna's favourite memories is walking down the aisle with her dad when she saw her husband to be, "I turned the corner to walk down the aisle and caught Matt's eye."
Jenna and Matt chose a classic colour scheme for their wedding with rose gold, dusty pinks and ivory.
With a spectacular venue providing enough natural decoration, they simply added some flower garlands and candlesticks to match with their classic look. Their beautiful cake was made by a member of the family, featuring triple chocolate, pink glitter icing and a shimmer effect ivory icing.
Guests were treated to drinks whilst the couple got outside with the stunning scenery for their romantic wedding photos. Then followed an evening of dancing and buffet.
The horse and carriage wedding transport
Everything was suddenly very real for Jenna when she heard the distinguished sounds of the horse and carriage wedding transport arriving. A fantastic way to travel in style for any bride.
The horse and carriage were provided by Courtyard Carriages.
After the ceremony, the couple were taken off in their horse and carriage wedding transport to the Royal Crescent for photographs. "As it was a nice day there were many tourists out who were waving to us, making us feel like royalty." Said Jenna.
Jenna's top tips...
"Enjoy the planning of the wedding. It is so much fun and needn’t be stressful at all. I would certainly recommend doing your research on everything which can help to save money too. I would highly recommend Wed2B who have fantastic dresses at very reasonable prices."
