An emotional church wedding was the perfect setting for this happy couples wedding day. Our WED2B Real Weddings Bedford feature reveals more:

Heather and Charlie were introduced to each other through mutual friends in 2009. Then 6 years later, during a romantic surprise weekend away in Manchester, Charlie got down on one knee in the hotel room and asked Heather to marry him. The happy proposal was followed with a gorgeous meal out and tasty cocktails.Real Weddings Bedford: Heather and Charlie's

Meaningful church wedding

The couple chose to marry at St Mary the Virgin Church in Bedford. This Church  meant a lot to them both as it had been the same place for Charlie's brothers wedding and his fathers funeral. They knew the venue would make for an emotional ceremony but "it felt very special," Heather says.

They held the evening reception the Pavenham Golf course close by. "We both immediately fell in love with the amazing view from the balconies!" says Heather.Real Weddings Bedford: Heather and Charlie's

Dress shopping

Heather bought her Carmen wedding dress at WED2B's Milton Keynes store with her mum. "We had a great experience in the Milton Keynes store and were treated so well" she says. Heather tried on Carmen by Anna Sorrano first, "I couldn't stop comparing Carmen to all the other dresses as I tried them on. It felt so perfect for me!" From then all Heather knew this dress was the perfect one for her.

On the day...

"Our church ceremony was wonderful," Heather say. Her dad walked her down the aisle, and both her parents gave her away. She also had a very special reading from her grandmother.

Following the ceremony everyone travelled to the golf course for the reception. Arriving at the location, the couple set off by a golf buggy for photographs. "It was so much fun, I loved driving the golf buggy back!" say Heather.

The couple decided to have speeches before food so people were able to relax and enjoy their meals. "The speeches all went really well. There were lots of tears and laughter!" After food, they had a band for entertainment that got everyone's feet moving. "Everyone was up on the dance floor!" says Heather. Another special moment for the happy couple was when they lit sparklers with their wedding guests. "Our birthdays are both around bonfire night and we always have firework parties to celebrate." says Heather.

"The whole day was so memorable for me," Heather says, "I enjoyed every minute of it and was able to feel relaxed and have fun!" Heather's advice for future brides' is to "relax and enjoy yourself! Don't worry about any small details just let the day unfold."
