Jessica and Cameron met through her best friend. “Cameron is her older brother,” says Jessica. “We’ve been together 11 years, since I was 16 years old.”
Balloons, flowers and a proposal
“Cam proposed on the 3rd August 2018 in the most beautiful room in The Bloomsbury Hotel in London,” says Jessica. “I thought I was there for early birthday celebrations but he surprised me by filling the room with my favourite flowers and balloons. When I turned around to see him, he was down on one knee.”
Dream dress shopping
Jessica bought her dress from WED2B Milton Keynes. “It was the most amazing experience, as I bought my dress just eight weeks before my wedding day,” she says. “I'd already purchased a different dress from a different store but then I had a freak out two months before the big day. I decided my old dress just wasn’t the one for me! The help I received at WED2B was amazing and I ended up buying my stunning Ashley dress.”
A beautiful Cotswolds wedding
The couple were married in an old converted barn called Mickleton Hills Farm. “We had previously searched for a venue abroad but couldn’t find the right one,” says Jessica. “Then we went to view Mickleton, for a Cotswolds wedding instead and knew instantly it was the one for us. It had on-site cottages, that we could have from Thursday to Sunday, included, which was a major need for us as we have two young children. We wanted it to feel like a mini-break rather than just one day.”
The big day
“My dad walked me down the aisle to ‘Song Bird’ by Eva Cassidy,” says Jessica. “It was the most emotional day. Our son ran up and hugged us as they announced us as husband and wife. He really believed it was his wedding day too!”
Gold, white and greenery
“We had a gold and white theme with lots and lots of real eucalyptus covering the tables,” says Jessica. “We also had massive sharing platters on each table for our main meal, followed by Krispy Kreme doughnuts on a homemade doughnut stand for dessert.”
My top tips…
“Give yourself enough time to get ready,” says Jessica. “The morning was such an important and fun part of my day but the last couple of hours went so fast. It felt incredibly rushed by the end of it. Most of all though, just enjoy every bit of the planning and the day. Also, take 10 minutes to yourselves at the wedding to process it all and chat about it. It’s so amazing looking around seeing all your favourite people.”
