When Tamlyn Hyslop started to plan her big day she knew she needed a gorgeous wedding dress that was as unique as her venue. Our WED2B real weddings feature reveals more about their amazing story:
“My fiancé Matt and I got married at Victoria Falls, in Zimbabwe, one of the natural wonders of the world,” she says. “I grew up in Africa and spent my life going on safaris. It's where I feel closest to home. Plus I love nature so I always hoped to get married in the bush. My husband is English so we also wanted a destination that was a once-in-a-lifetime holiday for guests.”
Finding 'The One'
Tamlyn knew just where to look for her dream dress having heard from friends all about WED2B. “I adored all of the designs so I knew I had to wear a WED2B wedding dress” says Tamlyn. “I saw the Electra dress and knew there and then then that it was 'The One'."
“In particular I loved Electra's beautiful layers,” she says. “The dress was unique and unusual but also classic enough that my husband would love it too. It flowed so beautifully. I literally felt like a princess and a super model at the same time! I also wore an Amixi WED2B cathedral-length veil with lace trimming. My dress had real ‘wow factor’ so I wanted everything else to be simple and elegant.”
A riverside romance
Tamlyn and Matt's ceremony was held under an oak tree on the banks of the Zambezi River, right in the middle of the Zambezi National Park. Afterwards guests enjoyed champagne and canapés by the river while watching the sun go down behind the palm trees. Then everyone walked the short distance to a beautiful marquee for dinner and speeches, before dancing the night away!
