This stunning bride chose one of our modern classics with a modest high neckline, contemporary lace and fabulously elegant sleeves for her wedding in church. All we can say is, we approve!

Rebecca and Christian embracing outside their wedding venue

Rebecca and Christian first met in May 2012 at McDonalds. “Christian and I then spent time together outside of work and had our first dates in London,” says Rebecca.

Christian proposed in the early hours of New Year's Day 2022. “We were playing a series of games with his family,” says Rebecca. “One of these games was ‘guess the person’. The guesser would wear a blindfold and a few people would line up and you'd have to guess who was who, based on touch."

"When it was my turn, I guessed that it was Christian's hand I was holding. However, when I removed my blindfold, I saw he was down on one knee holding out the ring. There were also heart balloons and petals everywhere!”

Discovering Anna Sorrano

Rebecca visited wed2b’s Milton Keynes’ store and discovered the Anna Sorrano collection. “It was an absolutely fantastic experience,” she says. “When I went in I had a rough idea of what I wanted but it was actually the sales lady who selected the dress that I fell in love with. She was very helpful and it was also a very well organised store.”

Rebecca chose our Camelia dress, a lace A-line with full-length sleeves, an appliqué-covered train and pretty scalloped lace back. She also added an A-line underskirt for more volume.“I absolutely loved it,” she says. "I’d always wanted an A-line with some sort of sleeves and that is what I ended up with. It made me feel glamorous and super confident.”

A wedding in church

The couple chose to have their April wedding in church. “I had known for a few years that I wanted to be married at St Mary’s Church in Woburn Sands, as it’s really pretty inside and out,” says Rebecca. “Our reception was at Amberleigh Gardens, in Bedfordshire.”

The big day

“It was a calm spring day, slightly overcast but not cold or raining,” says Rebecca. “I got ready at my parents’ house with my 10 bridesmaids, two flower girls, my parents and Christian's mum.”

“After the wedding in church we had some photos there before heading to the marquee at Amberleigh Gardens,” says Rebecca. “Then we enjoyed an all-you-can-eat Filipino buffet feast followed by lots of dancing, speeches and a great evening."

Beautiful blues

The colour scheme was light blue and grey and the wedding party had complementary outfits and flowers. “We also had a photo booth and, later in the evening, a DJ. Our cake was a three-tier, ombre buttercream cake with lemon, pink champagne and chocolate flavours.”

The most memorable moments were…

“The simple elegance,” says Rebecca. “And marrying my husband. The first dance was perfect and also the time in church was lovely, as our priest was so calm and reassuring. Everyone loved him.”

And for other Anna brides…

“Don't stress,” says Rebecca. “If something goes out of place, don't worry about it. Things happen and make a great story for future. Also, drink plenty of water whilst you're getting ready, as you'll forget later on. I had a designated bridesmaid constantly giving me water and I felt great all evening. Lastly, comfortable shoes go a long way!”
