Bridal Week has just finished and, if you’re currently planning your big day, you’re in luck. After our exclusive preview of all the key wedding dress trends for the coming year, we can confidently say that new brides are going to be spoilt for choice with our roundup of 2025 bridal trends!

The future is bright

Classic lace has had a modern update, with lots of exquisitely detailed but contemporary patterns gracing the catwalks. Adaptable coverage is also big news. There were chic sleeves on everything from ballgowns to sheaths but many were detachable, so you can choose your style or create a strapless evening look.

Lots of designers played with the idea of a sexy hint of skin, with flattering cut-out panels featuring alongside stylish splits. Meanwhile, maximum wow-factor came courtesy of stunning statement backs, decorated with luxurious beading or lacework. However, for brides who want to keep it simple, minimalism was big too. In sleek Mikado or soft crepe, these striking styles let the cut and craftsmanship do all the talking.

Lastly, the bridal industry is doing its bit environmentally and so are we. Responsible bridal design is key for 2025 and longer term, and at wed2b we’re working hard to reduce our impact on the environment, while still creating the styles you love. So, watch this space!

7 wedding dress trends to watch out for…

1. The new lace

Lace patterns and techniques are developing at a pace and this season plenty of contemporary lace was in evidence on the catwalks. Sheer lace with exposed boning is the perfect way to give your dress a modern twist. Also, look for bold botanical shapes or 3D florals that appear to  ‘grow’ off the dress and over the neckline or along the straps. Lastly, new patterns and styles include all-over stretch lace for effortless ease of movement and modern ‘outline’ motifs, depicting oversized florals in a fresh new way.

2. Statement sleeves

Sleeves for 2025 are big, bold and beautiful. Think over-sized, off-the-shoulder straps in lustrous organza, bohemian balloon styles in soft tulle or fashion-forward puffs covered in delicate floral motifs. What’s more, many of the new styles are detachable, so you can chop and change to your heart’s content, creating two looks in one which we're loving within this years bridal trends.

3. Figure-flattering cut outs

Clever cut outs are the new way to accentuate your figure. Running down the side of a bodice they help to sculpt curves and create an hourglass shape, while also adding a chic modern twist and a sexy flash of skin. Pair with a plunge neckline or low back for maximum drama.

4. Showstopping backs

Forget the front of your dress, the new way to make a real impact is with the back! So, give your guests even more to look at with a wow-factor, statement back. Super low scoop necklines are a modern way to show a little skin, especially when framed with rows of luxurious draped beads. Alternatively, for more coverage, go for an illusion style surrounded by intricate lace or an elegant low keyhole instead.

5. Sultry splits

Wedding dresses featured: Ocean, Renzo and Wilma

Lots of brides want a dash of sex appeal while keeping an overall feeling of elegance and sophistication. And that’s where the stylish split skirt comes in. Seen in every catwalk collection, a daring split skirt adds a touch of glamour that’s stays the right side of revealing. How high you go is up to you though and some clever box-pleated skirts will even hide the split until you want to show it. There’s also a practical element to this trend too, as a sleek split can make your skirt easier to walk, move and dance in. Bonus!

6. Modern minimalism

Alongside all the wow-factor embellishment, there were plenty of designs that kept it simple. Plain Mikado was the favourite fabric for this look, with its luxurious glossy sheen it rarely needs extra adornment. Minimal styles showcased expert cutting techniques instead of sparkle, with beautifully crafted necklines, softly ruched bodices and crisp off-the-shoulder straps taking centre stage within 2025 bridal trends.

7. Responsible bridal

Environmental awareness is gathering pace in bridal design, and is all over the 2025 bridal trends. After all, if a dress is only worn once it needs to be made as responsibly as possible. That’s why, at wed2b, we’ve been working with the designers we stock to help them reduce their impact on the planet. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international quality mark for recycled clothing that addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labelling. And we’re proud to say that all the gowns above have a GRS certified lining, meaning that at least 20% of the fabric consists of recycled material. We’re working hard to make further improvements, too!
