Danielle and Milan’s beautiful barn wedding venue

These newlyweds chose a delightful barn wedding venue for their big day. Our WED2B Real Weddings feature reveals more…

Danielle and Milan worked together at Marks and Spencer’s for years before they got to know each other “When we both started doing 6am shifts we started talking and six years later we tied the knot!” says Danielle.

“Our first date was at a Chiquitos restaurant. Milan was very nervous and he was a complete gentleman.”

A proposal in their brand new home

Milan proposed on the 31st July 2021. “We had saved during lockdown for our first home and this was the day we got the keys,” says Danielle. “I was upstairs ‘Instagramming’ our special day and he called me down in a panic. I thought he had broken something, so I came running downstairs and he had the biggest smile on his face and got down on one knee. Of course, I said yes!”

Shopping for the dress

Danielle visited WED2B’s Hinckley store. “A lot of my friends had got their dresses from WED2B, so I thought I would see if there were any for me,” she says. "To be honest, I had no idea what I wanted or what would suit me."

"When we walked in, Taylor-May came and gave us the best experience. She took us round, listened to what I liked about the dresses and the fourth dress I tried on was ‘The One’.”

“Fynn was the dress I chose and I felt very emotional in this dress,” says Danielle. “I knew this was ‘The One’. I could see myself walking down the aisle to my husband in it. It made me feel special and beautiful and I was the first one to try on this dress.”

"Based on the excellent service when we bought my wedding dress, we came back to get some bridesmaid dresses, too,” says Danielle. “Along with buying a hair comb, underskirt, hairband, veil, travel bag, make-up bag and robes for the wedding party. We spent a lot based on an amazing experience!”

A barn wedding venue

The couple married at The Barns at Hunsbury Hill on 6th April 2023. “We fell in love with this place, as we could have everything all in one place and their communication was quick and efficient,” says Danielle. “We loved the barn wedding venue feel.”

The big day

“I got ready with my wedding party; my mum, sister, niece, sister and mother-in-law,” says Danielle. “It rained in the morning but the sun came out during the ceremony. My dad walked me down the aisle to an instrumental version of ‘All Of Me’ by John Legend.”

The afterparty

“After the ceremony there were drinks and canapés and our wedding shoot,” says Danielle.

“Our first dance was to ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran. Then we served our wedding breakfast, which was chicken followed by sticky toffee pudding.”

A stylish grey theme

“We had a soft grey colour theme and we made the bouquets ourselves using silk flowers,” says Danielle. “The confetti was also homemade by drying out flower petals. Our wedding cake had three tiers of lemon, Victoria sponge and chocolate orange. There was also a DJ providing music for the day.”

The best bits…

“The most memorable moment of the whole day was walking down the aisle to my future husband,” says Danielle.

“Milan had happy tears in his eyes and he stroked my hand throughout the ceremony. We both had big smiles on our faces for the whole time, he is my forever partner.”

“Make sure you get lots of photos,” says Danielle.
