Dream dresses for a botanical garden wedding
At WED2B we've chosen four of our favourite looks for a botanical garden wedding. So sit back, relax and enjoy the flowers…
This season, weddings and dresses inspired by nature are bang on trend. Think beautiful embroidered florals, pretty leaves and intricate twisting foliage on everything from ballgown skirts to illusion straps and sleeves. Botanical garden wedding venues are also booming, whether that’s under a pergola in an elegant manor house garden, alfresco in a stunning woodland setting or inside a beautiful palm house or orangery.
What’s more, when it comes to the dress, your florals can be oversized and fabulous for the fashion-forward bride or neatly embroidered onto lace and hemlines for a more classic look. To help you choose, we’ve chosen four of our favourite looks for a botanical garden wedding. So sit back, relax and enjoy the flowers…
The perfect combination
Let’s start with Otis, a V-neck crepe gown with contemporary matt lace and subtle sequins. The sculpted silhouette and elegant low back make this a great choice for modern brides. The super soft crepe is also lightweight and very easy to wear.
The gorgeous matt-finish florals, scattered with delicate clear sequins, are ideal for brides who want to keep their blooms sophisticated and understated. The floral lace also helps to soften the sleek lines of the crepe skirt and the attractively scooped back.
The simple plain crepe also perfectly offsets the pretty lace that decorates the V-neck bodice, the straps and falls flatteringly down the hips. It’s a match made in heaven!
Flower power
Annika is all about fabulous florals from head to toe. This classic fit and flare style features a sweetheart bodice embellished with delightful floral lace and with a couture-inspired, lace-up back. Then there’s the stunning fitted skirt, overlaid with a lightweight train that starts at the hip and flares out.
The florals on the fitted bodice are just divine, and overlap the sweetheart neckline, giving the edges a softer feel. They also cover the hips before tumbling down the sheer skirt and decorating the hem.
This dress is great for brides who want something fitted but with a soft, almost boho, prettiness. The airy skirt also creates the effect of a grand train without the weight, which is ideal for a beach wedding or a romantic botanical garden wedding.
Fit for a princess
We’ve been blown away by lovely Martisse. This A-line with a sweetheart neckline and oversized floral appliqués is just perfect for wafting around a fabulous garden, surrounded by flowers.
It has large floral appliqués covering the bodice and skirt and a patterned sequin tulle layer for plenty of extra sparkle.
The bodice also has the perfect princess neckline, combined with a discreet illusion panel and a high back, for a good amount of support and coverage.
The stunning skirt is just a dream. The large appliqués make a real statement while the pretty train is just the right size for making an entrance and hitting the dance floor. Plus, it has plenty of bounce and volume, thanks to the horsehair hem.
Lastly, something a bit different…
Klara is our final choice for the perfect botanical garden wedding. You may be surrounded by floral and fauna but that doesn’t mean your dress has to follow suit! So, our last dress is a shimmering Mikado showstopper.
The super sleek lines of the skirt need no embellishment. All we’ve added (because we know our brides love them) is handy hidden pockets, for one or two big day essentials!
