This happy bride customised her dress to create the perfect look for her stylish gold wedding day…

Kenner and James have been together since they were 14. “We are true childhood sweethearts,” says Kenner. “Our little brothers both played in the same football team. For our first date, we went to the cinema and watched a scary film!”

“James proposed in June 2022, when I was pregnant with our daughter,” says Kenner. “We got engaged overlooking Tower Bridge. It was lovely. Afterwards, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the Chop House nearby, where both our parents joined us.”

Shopping for the dress

Kenner found her dream dress at wed2b’s Bromley store. “The manager at our venue, Gosfield Hall, recommended wed2b,” says Kenner. “It was a great experience. I loved all five of the dresses I tried on. This was the only shop I went to and I found and bought my dress on the same day!”

Kenner chose Camina, a Chantilly lace mermaid by Anna Sorrano. ”I had my dress altered a bit, but I loved the main front of the dress, it was gorgeous,” she says. “It was originally a sleeveless, corset-back dress but I added pretty Marika sleeves. I also bought a long veil and a topper from wed2b.”

The big day

The couple booked Gosfield Hall, a grand manor house in Essex, for their wedding on 25th April. “As soon as we looked at this venue, I knew,” says Kenner. “I got ready with my bridesmaids, my mum, the mother-of-the-groom and our daughter. It was a dry day, quite warm and cloudy but with no rain.”

“My father, Chris, walked me down the aisle while our violinists played,” says Kenner. “The ceremony was a standout moment that I’ll never forget. Afterwards there were canapés, drinks and photos and we made some TikToks. Then we enjoyed a wedding breakfast of chicken and salmon. Our first dance was to ‘What You Won't Do For Love’ by Bobby Caldwell.”

A gold wedding theme

“We had a gold wedding theme with an elegant mix of gold, champagne, beige and white,” says Kenner. “It matched the venue well, as there was a lot of gold.”
