Real Weddings Middlesbrough: Samantha and Adam’s pretty pink day
Bright pinks, uplifting music and beautiful sunshine combined to give these newlyweds the day they had always dreamed of. Our WED2B Real Weddings feature reveals more…
Samantha and Adam first met in 2010, when they were 17. “We have been inseparable since!” says Samantha. “One of our first dates was going to watch the fireworks on Bonfire Night.”
Popping the question
Adam proposed in the couple’s favourite restaurant on Valentine’s Day. “We got engaged in 2016, just before buying our first home,” says Samantha. “When Adam asked me to marry him I was surprised and very happy. The ring was perfect, even though it was about four sizes too big!”
Bridal shops Middlesbrough
“I bought my dress at WED2B’s Middlesbrough store.” says Samantha. “It was the second dress I tried and I just knew it was ‘The One’. The staff in store were also brilliant and helped me choose the perfect accessories to match. My dress was Minnie and I loved the pattern and how it glistened in the light. I also loved the details on the straps, too.”
The big day
The couple married at Hardwick Hall Hotel in County Durham on 17th July 2021. “I went to visit the venue last year and as soon as I walked into their Floral Chapel I knew we had to get married there,” says Samantha. “It was beautiful. The grounds at Hardwick are stunning and it also has a lovely lake.”
Music, food and dancing
“We had a lot of acoustic songs for our ceremony,” says Samantha. “I walked down the aisle to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea'. My dad walked with me and it was perfect. The weather was glorious too, the best day we’ve had this year. It hit 30℃ degrees, which really made the day. We also ate lovely food, drank plenty of Prosecco and danced the night away."
Pretty in pink
'We had big blossom trees and candelabras on our tables,” says Samantha. “However, there wasn’t really a theme. We just had everything bright and simple, with lots of shades of pink. Our cake was three tiers and it was plain white, with pink flowers wrapped around it."
"We didn’t have favours and unfortunately there was no DJ because of Covid, but we played music through our iPad and it was still great."
"My dad’s speech was one of the most memorable moments, as he presented me with a large canvas picture of my dogs. Everyone knows my dogs are my babies!”
My top tips…
“Don’t stress, it will all work out perfectly in the end!” says Samantha.
