WED2B Real Weddings: Sophie and Robert’s sunny Ibiza wedding
After visiting the island on holiday this couple decided that an Ibiza wedding was just right for them. Our WED2B Real Weddings feature reveals more…
Sophie and Robert met four years ago online and, after meeting for drinks in Manchester for their first date, things progressed. “Robert took me to Madrid for my birthday but I had no clue that he was going to propose!” says Sophie. “It was the 20th February 2018. We'd hired a boat in Madrid’s Central Park and he did it on the boat. He was pretending to play cards, so I would close my eyes. It was just a trick, and when I opened them he was down on one knee. I was so shocked, it was an amazing day!”

Shopping for the dress
Sophie chose WED2B’s Sawyer dress from the Signature Collection, as well as a rose gold hair comb. “I loved my dress and I had so many compliments,” she says. “I got married abroad so I needed something light and easy to wear. It was just perfect and the best choice. The girls in the store were amazing too, and made me feel fab on the day. They encouraged me to keep trying on dresses until I found the perfect one.”

A dreamy Ibiza wedding
The couple married in Ibiza, at the Cas Milà restaurant in Cala Tarida. “It’s a beautiful place,” says Sophie. “We’d previously been there on holiday and said how amazing it would be to have an Ibiza wedding. We had 58 family and friends for the day, which was the perfect amount. All the important people fell in love with the venue straight away and we always knew it was the one.”
A simple ceremony
The couple married on August 24th 2019. “We stayed in a hotel near our venue and most of our guests were close by too,” says Sophie. “It was a small ceremony, with my dad walking me down the aisle. We didn’t have any readings but the lady marrying us said some lovely words, which meant a lot to us.”

White flowers and a romantic sunset
The colours for the day were white and gold. “Our flower arrangements were a mix of simple hydrangeas and baby’s-breath flowers,” says Sophie. “The wedding venue overlooked the sea, so it was stunning enough and didn’t need too much decoration. We ate by candlelight and enjoyed a perfect Ibizan sunset during the speeches. We then partied into the night with a DJ and saxophonist, who were just fabulous. The day flew by but it was so perfect!”
My top tips…
“Take time out to sit and enjoy the company of your friends and family,” says Sophie. “It really does go by fast, so try to enjoy it all. We would also highly recommend having a videographer, as all the moments you forget or miss are all on a disk, which you get to keep forever.”

Sophie’s dream team
“All our Ibizan suppliers were recommended by Cas Milà Restaurant (restaurantecasmila.com),” says Sophie. “They had a great team and didn’t let us down. I worried about it all running smoothly but everything went to plan.”
