A garden wedding outside in beautiful Heidi Hudson
Our soft, floral A-line was ideal for this lovely alfresco day
If you’re planning a wedding outside, our lightweight boho designs with pretty floral embroidery that mirrors the surroundings are a great choice, as you can see from this delightful celebration…
Ineke and Ingmar met at a sports club where they both did gymnastics. “For our first date we went to the cinema,” says Ineke.
Ingmar later popped the question on Ineke’s 30th birthday. “We went for dinner at a restaurant and afterwards we drove home to our cottage, which we were in the process of renovating,” she says. “There he got down on one knee in what would become the living room. After asking, people suddenly appeared from the garden and kitchen. He had invited our family and closest friends to be there too!”
Discovering Heidi Hudson
Ineke headed to wed2b’s Antwerp store to find her dream dress. “My ex-sister-in-law had bought her wedding dress there a few years ago,” she says. “When I arrived I was helped by a super nice lady and she made me feel good immediately.”
Her perfect dress was our Emilio design, a pretty floral A-line with a soft blush lining, illusion straps and detailed floral embroidery. “I chose a loose dress with a V-neckline and pretty lace,” says Ineke. “I also wanted a lace-up back and no zip because I was five months pregnant at the time. Our baby arrived two months before the big day.”
Ineke also added a mermaid underskirt for a little more volume and finished her look with a floral Evie hair clip.
A wedding outside
The couple chose a garden setting owned by the Chiro youth organisation for their August wedding. “It meant we could we could do everything for our wedding outside,” says Ineke. “It was also close to our house, which was ideal with a two-month-old baby.”
The big day
“I got ready with my mum and best man,” says Ineke. “Then we had our ceremony in the town hall. It was raining at that point but luckily the weather improved.”
After the ceremony, there was an ice cream van for the guests to enjoy. “Then we left for photos with our photographer. Later, we did our first dance to ‘I Can See The Lights’ from the film Rapunzel. We chose this song because the lyrics hinted at our relationship.”
A budget-friendly day
The colour theme was light pastels and all the details were homemade. “We did everything ourselves, apart from the photography,” says Ineke. “Our lovely cake was made by my brother. We also used decorations for the ceremony as table decorations. Then, in the evening, my brother-in-law was the DJ.”
The best bits…
“Everything!” says Ineke. “However, the garden ceremony was very special.”
And for other Heidi brides…
“Stay calm and enjoy. Everything will be fine.”
