A love for the outdoors and beer festivals was the inspiration behind this couples beautiful wedding. Our WED2B Real Weddings Norwich feature reveals more:
Donna and James have known each other since school. "We both liked one another but were always to shy to ask each other out," Donna says. However a few years later "thanks to social media, we started chatting again" and went on their first date for hot chocolate.
During an annual trip to Devon, while rock pooling, James called Donna over to look at the crab he had caught. When Donna walked over, instead of the sea creature, James had a ring in his hands. "I asked James where the crab was before I had even replied to the big question!" Donna says. "It was perfect. Best proposal ever."The perfect champagne dress
Donna eventually found her dream wedding dress at WED2B's Norwich store, on their store opening day. After picking up a variety of WED2B dresses they were 'either too white, too tight or just too big" Donna spotted Destin on a mannequin. The champagne wedding dress fit Donna perfectly! She loved the open back feature and loved its hidden pockets even more!Teepee wedding party
The couple got married at the sophisticated 17th Century 'The Reading Room' in Alby, with Donna's dad walking her down the aisle to Christine Grimme 'Your Song'. Once the couple caught each other's eyes at the end of the aisle they both started crying. While planning their dream wedding Donna and James decided on the perfect theme "a Beer festival glamping, camping teepee experience" says Donna. A family member had the perfect location for them; a garden beside a river in Norfolk. The couple filled the garden with teepees, glamping tents and tons of bunting!Rustic DIY decor
The whole family got involved to create a gorgeous rustic atmosphere for the day. "We gathered lots of jars and planted our own flowers in them for our centre pieces," Donna says, "My mum, bless her heart, made handmade bunting, around 300 feet of it! James made a bar out of pallets and a card box out of a log in the garden and my dad created a huge LOVE sign!" says Donna. The DIY didn't stop there, James' mum made the beautiful four tier wedding cake consisting of a fruit, chocolate, coconut and Victoria sponge layers and decorated it perfectly with real flowers the same as Donna's bouquet. Donna's top tips for future brides is "make it a fun day for everyone. Don't be traditional, relax and keep laughing. Do things that people wouldn't expect at a wedding."A few more to inspire you…
