Fun and games were the order of the day at this couple’s wedding. Our WED2B Real Weddings Solihull feature reveals more:
Natalie and Matt have been together since they were teenagers. “We always knew we were going to get married,” smiles Natalie.
After asking Natalie’s mum for her blessing, Matt took Natalie to the place they’d been camping when they first started dating. “He gave me a letter that he’d written for me, which we did each month for the first year we were together, and still do for birthdays, Christmases and special occasions,” she says. “Then when I turned around he had the ring and asked me to marry him!”
Finding ‘The One’ (eventually)…
Natalie wore WED2B’s Leah dress by Anna Sorrano down the aisle but it was actually the second dress she bought. “I initially purchased the Althea,” (from The Signature Collection) she says. “I loved how different it was, with it’s off-white colour and lace details. Then about six months later I saw the Leah online and fell in love instantly! I tried it on and it was exactly what I’d imagined I’d wear. It was comfortable, the sleeves were beautiful and it had the lace that I was looking for. What made it so special was that my Auntie got to see me try it on before she passed away.” A Tiffany bridal belt was the finishing touch to accentuate her waist, “It looked stunning with the dress and added just the right amount of sparkle,” says Natalie. “I also wore a bracelet that belonged to my Auntie, some drop earrings and a simple veil that my Nan and I made at home. I felt so comfortable and happy with my outfit.”
Love and laughter
The couple chose Pendrell Hall, a beautiful country house in Staffordshire for their venue. “My Grandad walked me down the aisle, which is something that I’d always wanted,” says Natalie. “He’s my absolute hero, so it was a dream come true. Matt and I are always laughing so we just wanted everyone to have a laugh or two at the ceremony. The most memorable moment was standing with Matt at the front,” says Natalie. “It felt like it was just us two but I was so happy knowing that we were surrounded by family and friends who loved us.”
It was a beautiful sunny day and the ceremony was followed by a drinks reception and a three-course wedding breakfast. Then it was time for some fun and games. “We had a ‘Pimp your Prosecco' stand, a photo booth and a pick ’n’ mix sweetie table,” says Natalie. “I also had the game Guitar Hero, as I loved playing it when I was younger. We found a few lads playing FIFA on there in the evening! There was a guest cymbal in honour of Matt’s drumming skills and a memory table with photos of people that we wished could have been there.”
“If we could do it all again I don’t think we’d do much different at all. We loved the day,” says Natalie. “Although I’d probably advise making sure the dress you buy is definitely the one you want, otherwise you’ll end up with two!”
