WEDDING DRESS SIZE CALCULATOR

Generally, wedding dress sizes are different to high street clothing, so it’s common to find yourself a different size to your normal fit. Use our handy guide to estimate what wedding dress size you may need to try on.

Tips from the bridal advisors

  • A dress with a corset back has more flexibility in the sizing, whereas a zip design may require the next size up, especially for styles that are more fitted to the body.
  • Your seamstress can make a dress up to two sizes smaller if needed but making a dress bigger is very tricky, we would always advise to size up!
  • If you can, wear underwear you feel supported and comfortable in, similar to what you would wear on your wedding day, then you’ll get a real picture of how you will look on your big day!

How To Measure

For accurate measurements, don’t measure over your clothing. Wear the undergarments that are similar to the ones you’ll wear with your wedding dress. The measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack and should be aligned parallel to the floor.

  1. A - Bust
Measure under the arms at the fullest part across the shoulder blades around the bust horizontally
  2. B - Waist
Measure around the natural waistline. The measuring tape must be horizontal against the body
  3. C - Hip
With feet together measure around the fullest part of the hip
  4. D - Waist to hem
Measure from natural waist to floor in a straight line
