A Summer wedding at an outdoor wedding venue
Their wedding was a beautiful blend of celestial charm and pastel colors, creating a dreamy atmosphere that perfectly reflected their love story.
Elegant bohemian wedding dress, pastel wedding colours and a summer outdoor wedding venue were the perfect combination for newlyweds Grace and Jack.
Grace and Jack's love story is a testament to the modern age. They met online, and as Grace puts it, "I added Jack on Facebook!" "After meeting in 2014, we got together in 2015 and are on our second house and have the most handsome dog, Bear."
A Proposal to Remember
On July 6, 2021, Jack orchestrated a heartwarming proposal during a holiday in Shrewsbury, a moment captured perfectly with their dog, Bear, seemingly joining in on the joy. It's a memory they'll cherish forever, with Grace recalling, "We have an amazing engagement photo at the exact moment he proposed - the dog looks like he is proposing too!"
Choosing Heidi Hudson
Grace visited wed2b Ashford near Kent to begin her wedding dress journey, no appointment required. “The store assistances were relaxed and were so helpful.” She says. Grace had fallen in love with the great value Maud wedding dress by Heidi Hudson online.
“As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one.” Says Grace.
Her choice was confirmed the moment she tried it on, with her loved ones' tears of approval. “This thought was confirmed as my mum, step mum, nana, sister and mother in law were wiping away the tears!” she says.
Grace chose our bohemian dress, a soft tulle Aline wedding dress with a strapless semi-sheer bodice. “I chose Maud because it was the perfect mixture between bohemian and elegance.” Says Grace. “I loved the Bardot straps and I felt incredible. It hugged my figure and I got so many compliments.” Grace completed her bridal look with a Mermaid underskirt.
A Dream Venue at Reach Court Farm
The outdoor wedding venue at Reach Court Farm was the ideal backdrop for Grace and Jack’s special day. “We chose it because we felt instantly comfortable as soon as we walked in and instantly both agreed that it was the one. “ says Grace.
The big day
The couple married on 3rd August 2023 at a Civil Ceremony. “I got ready with my maid of honour, bridesmaids, flower girls, mum and nana. It was so special and so exciting- I will cherish that morning forever.” Says Grace.
As an August bride, Grace couldn't help but worry about the weather. "I was checking the weather CONSTANTLY. Forecasts kept changing - rain, wind, thunderstorms… the day was beautiful. The first day it didn’t rain in over a week with no wind”
“I walked down the aisle with my dad to Yellow by Brooklyn Duo, the song still makes me cry when I listen to it.” Says Grace. “My step mum organised gorgeous, vintage convertible cars to collect myself and the bridesmaids. The convertible was a two seater so my dad drove myself and him to the venue, so special.”
An unforgettable outdoor wedding venue
After the heartfelt ceremony, Grace and Jack's wedding took a fun turn. “We had drinks and played several games of beer pong! With jagerbombs! We had so many laughs.” Says Grace.
“We had a BBQ as we are quite a chilled couple so we wanted it to be relaxed, the food was delicious! The children played in the gardens outside, rolling down the hills getting grass stains on their clothes!”
Grace and Jack’s first dance was to "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz encapsulated the deep love they shared. “We love this song as the lyrics are beautiful and we knew everyone else would sing along as they joined us on the dance floor… which they did!” Says Grace
A Celestial Summer Theme
The couple chose a pastel colour scheme of blues, pinks, and lilacs for a summery and beautiful atmosphere. “The pastel colours went with the gold hints I wanted to add which matched our invitations and place names- gold with moons and stars.” Says Grace.
Their decorations included gold candelabras, jars with fairy lights. “We had lots of personalised elements: the table favours were lottery tickets with our names on them.” Says Grace.
Grace and Jack's wedding was a day filled with love and special details. “I also hand wrote personal letters to every single guest which was in a blue envelope sealed with a gold heart sticker which took a lot of time but was so worth it- I wanted all of my guests to feel welcome and know that we were so grateful for them celebrating with us as individuals.”
“The cake was made by a colleague and was delicious! Chocolate and Victoria sponge. I had clay models made of our dogs from an independent seller on Etsy which were such a special touch, along with our initials in gold and a gold moon on the top.” Says Grace.
The best bits...
“I’ve re-written this a thousand times. I honestly cannot pinpoint one, two or three memorable moments.” Says Grace. “The whole day was just INCREDIBLE and I got to spend it with the most beautiful soul - my husband."
"Everything was more than what I ever expected...,"
"I get choked up thinking about it."
Top Tips for Future Brides
“Don’t obsess about the weather.” Says Grace.
“I get it, it’s so hard not to. You have a dream about the most beautiful day and if you’ve booked a venue outside, that’s how you picture it so it’s really difficult to get your head around it being inside if the weather isn’t great.”
“If the weather isn’t great, you’ll still have the most incredible day with your loved ones. We had a grim weather forecast which was changing hourly, and it turned out beautiful. So, I could’ve spent that time getting excited instead of getting so worried.”
