Kacey and Bradley met at secondary school at the age of 11. “We dated all the way through and finally got married at the age of 27,” says Kacey. “We also have two beautiful children together, and we just felt like getting married was the final piece of our puzzle.”
A Valentine’s Day proposal
“For Valentine’s Day, Bradley created a life story book,” says Kacey.
“Each page had photos that followed us from meeting at school right up to the current day. The last page was Bradley asking me to marry him and then he got down on one knee. I couldn’t have been any happier, I wouldn’t have wanted to share my life with anyone else.”
Shopping for the dress
"My experience at WED2B’s Chesham store was brilliant,” says Kacey.
“The women there felt like friends and were so knowledgeable."
"They gave me real feedback for the dresses I tried and really listened to what I was looking for. Georgina from WED2B social media also reached out about the real bride stories, after she saw an image of us on our photographer’s Instagram page.”
Kacey chose Natalie, a beautiful fishtail style.
“The dress just fitted like it was made for me,” she says.
“I felt the best I had ever felt whilst wearing it, all my insecurities left. I chose to make it strapless and I finished the look with an Angel veil and Evie hair piece.” (For similar styles try Fynn, Faythe or Kamille)
A farm wedding venue Banbury
The couple got married at Hadsham Farm, near Banbury, on 27th August 2022. “We chose it because it’s an outdoor tipi venue,” says Kacey.
“It also had a completely relaxed vibe, which was exactly how Bradley and I are in life."
"It’s the only venue we viewed, because the second we got there we just knew nowhere else would be as perfect."
The big day
“I got ready in the venue’s shepherd’s cabin with my bridesmaids and our daughter, who was our flower girl,” says Kacey. “Bradley and our son got ready across the venue in the small bell tents. We had our family stay the night before and they all got ready in the morning with us."
"Our fathers were busy cooking a fry up on the BBQ while our mums were doing the finishing touches!”
“Once our guests arrived, my bridesmaids walked down the aisle one by one and then my dad walked me to meet Bradley,” says Kacey. “The outdoor ceremony was in front of a flower hoop covered in baby’s breath, overlooking a lake and stunning greenery. We also read out vows that we had written specially about our journey together."
Food vans, grazing tables and a silent disco
“After the ceremony there were food vans instead of a sit-down meal,” says Kacey. “Later in the evening there was also a grazing table, to tie in with our relaxed atmosphere. Once everybody had eaten, everyone danced and had fun."
"We finished with a silent disco, for those of us that weren’t ready to end the night!”
“Our first dance song was ‘You’re Still The One’, to mirror how we have loved each other for as long as we can remember,” says Kacey. “We’ve always been each others ‘one’.”
A green and white theme
"We went for lots of greenery with touches of white flowers everywhere, and lots of baby’s breath,” says Kacey. “The venue was full of fairy lights and the whole of the inside was wooden, which kept everything neutral and natural. Our bridesmaids also wore sage green dresses.”
"Our wedding cake was semi-nude and topped with green and white floral toppers,” says Kacey. “Underneath we had cookies instead of multiple tiers."
"The whole day was completely laid-back, rather than regimented."
The best bits…
“The most memorable moments were standing in front of all of our family and friends,” says Kacey. “Also, Bradley saying his vows, while rubbing my wedding ring finger, promising to love me and support me for the rest of our lives. It was such a beautiful moment and we never felt more connected to one another.”
My top tips…
“Take a break from hosting in your evening and remember to spend time together.”
