Looking for a totally unique wedding dress?
Then you’ve come to the right place…
Every bride wants to find a truly unique wedding dress. But how do you make sure that yours is one that really stands out from the crowd? We asked our bridal experts for their top tips…
How to find ‘The One’
Every bride’s dress is deeply special to her. However, if you want a unique wedding dress that has real impact there are a few key things to look for. For fashion lovers a striking on-trend detail, like statement sleeves or an oversized bow, will guarantee you plenty of wow factor. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a classic style that will make your entrance unforgettable, then go for an extra-long train to flow magnificently behind you as you walk down the aisle.
If glitter is your thing, then plenty of well-judged sparkle will ensure you’re eye-catching from every angle. However, if you want something more contemporary, try a sleek sculptural design where the shape of the dress or neckline does all the talking.
Look for exclusives
At wed2b we also only stock limited-edition designs, so you’re unlikely to see anyone else wearing the same dress any time soon. Also, we choose our designer collections very carefully, to make sure that each and every dress offers something very special that you won’t find elsewhere.
To show you want we mean we’ve found six designs that really do offer something different, whether that’s a striking neckline, distinctive lace or wow-factor sleeves. So, read on to find the perfect unique wedding dress for you…
Stand out in… Pure glitter
Head-to-toe glitter is always going to make a statement. This could mean intricate beading, lace and sequins but can also be done in a more minimal way with swathes of glitter tulle. Haisley by Viva Bride is the perfect example, as it manages to be both understated and endlessly sparkling! Made from pretty glitter tulle, it has a stunning shimmer without the need for much detailing. The bodice and skirt are deliberately simple, with no extra embellishment, so that the stunning tulle is the stand-out feature.

Real bride Alice kept it simple but sparkly in her glitter tulle A-line, which caught the sunlight beautifully. “I just felt like a princess,” she says. “It fitted everywhere perfectly and the sparkle was unreal.”

Stand out in… Architectural sculpting
However, if something sculpted, contemporary and with a high-fashion feel is more your thing then you’ll love Ferentino. This ultra-modern design by Sofia Cruz really is unlike anything your guests will have seen before. The classic A-line shape has been updated in luxurious Mikado fabric and features pockets, a modern bridal essential. But it’s the architectural bodice that people will remember, with its bold draped neckline and wrap-around pleating.

Real bride Maz channelled a similar vibe for her cool beach wedding, keeping it chic in a pleated sheath with a stylish neckline. “The cut was so flattering,” she says. “The material was also lovely and looked a lot more expensive than what it was. I wanted something simple, classic and timeless.”

Stand out in… Statement sleeves
Another way to add an unexpected twist to your look, is to have a statement feature. Full-length sleeves are a huge trend that shows no sign of waning. And, whether you go for floaty balloon sleeves or delicate tattoo-effect lace, they really will make your dress feel very individual. Carwen combines both these looks in one with beautiful balloon sleeves decorated with the prettiest lace. Great for soft coverage, they also balance out the volume of the skirt, flattering the figure.

Ara added detachable balloon sleeves to her sparkling Viva Bride A-line, to great effect. Paired with a strapless dress they added striking volume and meant she could create different day and evening looks.

Stand out in… an oversized bow
A beautiful big bow is another feature that will make your look unique. A detachable oversized bow in crisp Mikado is perfect for a contemporary style, while the softly draped shoulder bows on Saydie make this boho dress feel extra special (and can be removed to create two looks in one!).

We love how wed2b bride Rebecca accessorised her elegant Mikado A-line with a stylish oversized hair bow. It perfectly suited the mood of her fun barn wedding.

Stand out in… Modern florals
Florals have always been a wedding favourite but today’s modern patterns include everything from breathtaking burnt-out organza to fabulous 3D varieties. For a distinctive look, choose florals that are crisp and contemporary with a catwalk-style finish. Heidi Hudson does this beautifully with strapless Florelle. The silhouette and neckline have been kept simple while the sheer fabric silhouettes the pattern perfectly, making it punchy and bold.

Grace went for the same feel with her sheer bodice with off-the-shoulder straps. The tulle skirt and the chic flower pattern give her dress a modern boho vibe and also match the summer blooms at her lovely rustic venue.

Stand out in… a 100” train
Finally, for absolute maximum wow-factor and a dress that people will talk about for a long time, there’s no better accessory than a magnificent train. Trains come in all shapes and sizes but the bigger the better we think! Also, will you go for intricate detailing, a modern cut-out effect or keep it simple with gloriously shimmering Mikado? Stunning Byron does the latter, with a rippling ballgown skirt complete with extra long train. It will make the aisle feel like your own personal runway!

Laura wanted a similarly impactful feel for her grand manor house setting, so chose a classic A-line with a fabulous long train. “I wore Cambridge, an elegant and timeless dress,” says Laura. “I always thought I’d wear something fitted and detailed, but it was so classic and such a stunning shape. Then, when I realised there were pockets, I was beside myself. Perfect for snacks!”
